Executive Team
Betty M. Owens, President & CEO
Betty M. Owens tapped into her construction and managerial expertise to establish her company, Ameridian Specialty Services, Inc., in June 1999. Starting with two employees, she has grown her company to employ a workforce of over 50.
Betty will be the first to tell you the path she chose in business has had many bumps and roadblocks. Betty is able to overcome those challenges through perseverance along with the help of the several agencies set up to assist women and/or minority owned companies, as well as small businesses. Attaining SBA and SDBE 8(a) certification gives her the opportunity to win sole-source contracts. The programs have assisted in building both experience and capacity.
Betty believes that part of being a responsible business owner is giving of her time and resources to help those in need. Currently, Betty serves on the Board of Directors of Sojourner Recovery Services. Sojourner Recovery Services is a non-profit organization that provides chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment for individuals and their families. In the summer of 2009, Ameridian completed the development and building a playground for the children of Sojourner clients. Betty also supports Rezonate, which raises money to provide backpacks for the children of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. As a proud supporter of our local community, Ameridian purchased a Belgium Malinois dog, named Cjeena, for the Sharonville police department K-9 division. Cjenna (pronounced Cheena) was sworn in as a member of the force on May 25th, 2009.
Included in her many accomplishments, since the incorporation of Ameridian, are making Inc. Magazine’s "500 Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies" in 2005. Ameridian Specialty Services, Inc. was recognized in the Business Courier [Cincinnati, Ohio] "Fast 55" in 2005 and 2009. Most recently, Ameridian Specialty Services, Inc. was listed (#18) on the Business Courier List of Largest Tri-State Women-Owned Businesses. Additionally, Betty was named the 2008 Ohio "Keys to Success" award recipient. Ameridian continues to build a quality reputation in the construction industry. With ongoing training at local organizations like Allied Construction Industries as well as attending the Tuck Business School at Dartmouth University, Betty continues to sharpen her skills. With integrity and honesty, Betty directs the day-to-day operations of Ameridian and delivers quality solutions to her customers again and again.
Geoff began his career with Ameridian as Chief Financial Officer in 2009, and brings over 23 years of diversified corporate accounting experience in the construction and real estate industry. In addition to his accounting expertise, Geoff developed several residential communities and various commercial real estate projects in Greater Cincinnati, including the Oasis Golf Course Community in Loveland, the TPC at River’s Bend Golf Course Community, The Shoppes at River’s Bend, and River’s Bend Towne Center in Hamilton Township, OH. Geoff is responsible for the overall financial management of Ameridian Specialty Services.
Geoff graduated from Xavier University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Business Administration Degree in Accounting. He also earned his Certified Public Accountant license in 1983.
A life long resident of Cincinnati, Geoff is married and has four children and currently resides in Loveland, Ohio.
Rex Manemann, Vice President Business Development
Rex brings an extensive background of project management experience to our team. His role capitalizes on strengths in estimating, supervision, problem solving, planning, and design. Rex’s resume of projects include commercial construction and renovation, work at WPAFB and various government agencies, medical facilities, as well as many specialized structures.
He is a graduate of Sinclair Community College and has over 30 years experience in construction management.
Jim Owens, Senior Project Manager
As Senior Project Manager, Jim is responsible for construction and project management, working together with clients, architects, engineers and contractors from design through completion. Jim has 16+ years experience in project management. Through his construction experience, he is able to surpass our company’s and our customer’s needs. He continually provides professional service exceeding customer expectations.
Jim graduated from Miami University with an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. In October, 2010, the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners certified Jim as a Solar Photovoltaic System Installer™. The NABCEP Solar PV Installer certification is presently the only national certification that demonstrates competence in the field of Photovoltaic systems.
Doug Greene, Commericial Roofing Estimator
Doug has over 30 years experience in the roofing business, bringing extensive roofing working knowledge with him. Throughout his career, he has held various positions: project engineer, estimator, maintenance manager as well as safety manager. He spent the last 20 years working with a local company in their commerical roofing and sheet metal division.
Doug and his family live in Clermont County, Ohio. Among his many hobbies are golf and fishing, however his greatest passion is officiating football-high school and pee wee, and all levels in between. His education includes U.C. Clermont College, Purdue Univeristy and Ohio College of Applied Science.
Donald L. Dixon, Commercial Roofing Estimator
Don has 28 years of combined experience in commercial roof estimating, project management and customer service to the general public. He demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with General Contractors, Architects, Manufacturer's Reps, Distributors/Suppliers, private contacts and co-workers and is able to quickly adapt to new situations/conditions and systems. He has been noted for his particular details to completion of job tasks.
Don graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Technology/Management. Don was worked with a variety of Commercial Roofing and Sheet Metal companies and brings all this vast and different approaches together to utilize and implement these experiences to further the success and reputation of Ameridian Specialty Services, Inc.
Matt Owens, Chief Operating Officer / Director of Solar & Renewable Energy Division
As Director of our Solar & Renewable Energy Division, Matt leads our team on all solar and renewable energy projects. Matt joined Ameridian in July of 2009 after a 17-year career in engineering management in the automotive industry. During this time he worked for large international corporations manufacturing automobiles and automotive components and was responsible for leading the activities of production and facilities engineering departments charged with improving quality and productivity while reducing costs.
Matt graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and earned a Project Manager Certification from Xavier University. In October of 2009 the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners certified Matt as a solar photovoltaic system installer. The NABCEP solar PV installer certification is presently the only national certification that demonstrates competence in the field of photovoltaic systems.
The mission of our solar and renewable energy division is to provide complete renewable energy solutions for our customers, taking your project from concept to system startup and deliver a turn-key solution that provides value to your organization.
Steve Szabo, Commercial Construction Project Manager
As Project Manager, Steve is responsible for estimating and managing projects from design through completion. He works closely with clients, architects, engineers and contractors to ensure a successful project completion. Steve also serves as project scheduler for both commercial construction and roofing projects. Steve graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management and is an Army Corps of Engineers certified Quality Control Manager.
Sales and Business Development Team:
Tom Owens, Vice President of Sales
Since 1995, Tom has coordinated the management and leadership of all operations activities of Ameridian Specialty Services across all areas of the company, including roofing and construction. He possesses a strong background in real estate development, both residential and commercial. Additionally, Tom has expertise in the area of building asset management. Tom brings over thirty years of market and industry knowledge to the Ameridian.
Steve Majchszak, Sales and Business Development
Steve joined Ameridian in 2010, after fourteen year in sales, marketing and business development for a custom home builder and local developer. In Steve’s current role he is responsible for market research, planning, developing and executing sales and marketing strategies. His previous sales efforts earned him the Excalibur Award from the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Cincinnati.
